annual. Plus, the area is often referred to as the gateway to the pacific rim.

Gulf of Mexico
The waters of the gulf coast are rich with boating activity. The
Intracoastal water way goes all along the gulf coast and the eastern part of
the United States.
Mississippi River
The Mississippi river flows from northern Minnesota to the Gulf of Mexico
with an average flow of 600,000 cu. ft. of water per second. This massive river
covers 2,348 miles of land and drains from 31 states. It is a major shipping
route for all sorts of goods.
